Energy Balls (Vegan, GF, Raw)

These amazing energy balls are the perfect thing to reach for when you’re looking for something sweet. Best part is they are guilt free so you can enjoy them whenever you want! They’re great as an afternoon pick me up or a snack to tide you over between meals. 

They are made from just a few ingredients, they’re vegan, contain no sugar or gluten, and they’re completely raw. Don’t even get us started on how tasty they are and how it’s so hard to control ourselves whenever we have a batch handy..


  • 1 cup of dates
  • 1 cup almonds (you can also use walnuts or half and half)
  • 1 tablespoon cacao
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • a teaspoon or two of water (if necessary)

* When we say cacao, we're thinking of pure raw cacao, not the kind of cocoa powder used for chocolate drinks that contain sugar as the main ingredient and various flavorings and additives.

For the balls on the right side of the picture, the recipe is the same except we replaced the cacao with ground plasma. 


Put the almonds in a blender for a minute, just until it breaks down. Then, add dates and other ingredients until it becomes sticky. Feel free to add water at this point if necessary. Make sure your hands are slightly wet (to prevent sticking) and roll into small balls. Place the balls in the fridge an hour (if you can wait that long!).
