Anti Inflammatory Cold Busting Smoothie
It seems that with the change of weather (from cold, to warm and then back to freezing) everyone around me is getting sick!
I usually don't flinch at this since I'd like to think my immune system is in top shape, but the other day I felt weaker than I have in years. I think my recent travels coupled with not enough sleep over the past few weeks were enough to give this bug a chance to sneak into my system.
Knowing I could not afford to actually get sick, I immediately upped my vitamin C intake, drank lots of liquids, and whipped up this smoothie as a way to bounce back. Within 1 day I immediately felt better and I know this smoothie definitely had something to do with it.

Anti-Inflammatory Cold Busting Smoothie (Carrot, Ginger, Mango, Turmeric)
What You Need
- 2 medium carrots, peeled and chopped roughly
- 1/4 c frozen mango (sub extra banana if you don't have mango)
- 1/2 frozen banana
- juice from a wedge of lemon or lime
- 1-inch chunk of ginger
- 1 tsp ground turmeric (the root is even better if you have it on hand)
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 cup water
Place all the ingredients in your blender and mix until smooth. Enjoy
