Banana Almond Ginger Smoothie

If you're craving a slightly sweet smoothie or are in a rut and looking to change things up, here is one of my favorite smoothie recipes! It's also one of the best ways to start off your day.  This banana almond ginger smoothie is so creamy and tasty (you won't know it's healthy for you) but at the same time, it's full of healthy ingredients such as hemp seeds and ginger, which have anti-inflammatory effects. You also likely have the ingredients on hand to make it so you really have no excuse not to give it a try! 

Banana Almond Ginger Smoothie

You Need

  • 1 frozen bananas
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or 1/4 cup raw almonds
  • 3 tablespoons of hemp seeds
  • 2 cups water or nut milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein or collagen peptides

Put all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.


A Breakdown of the Ingredients in this Smoothie

Banana: It is full of potassium, fiber and vitamin B6. Bananas support the kidneys, bone and cardiovascular health. They are also an excellent food to help your body with elimination. 

Ginger: High anti-inflammatory food  and excellent for boosting digestion.

Almond Butter: Almonds are high in vitamin E (for glowing skin), various minerals and they help protect against cardiovascular disease.

Hemp Seeds: One of the best vegetable sources of protein. Hemp is also filled with an anti-inflammatory omega-3 as well as minerals, including magnesium (which helps your body and muscles to relax) and manganese (which build strong bones).

Water: Water hydrates our cells and helps to remove toxins from the body. Adequate water is needed for healthy and elastic skin, effective elimination and building muscle.
